Wind-lifted shingles and ridge caps
Why it happens here
The open fields around Lake Apopka let wind build speed before it hits your roof. It gets under shingle edges and pops them loose, especially on west-facing slopes and ridges.
Our approach
We use shingles rated for higher wind speeds and hand-seal the ridge caps. On exposed roofs we add extra fasteners at the edges and check the flashing, which is usually the next thing to fail.
